Spend 15 minutes supporting another podcast.

Podcast growth can involve SEO tactics, sponsor decks, pitching yourself as a guest, setting up promo swaps, and spreadsheets upon spreadsheets. Today’s assignment is simpler (and not as immediately obvious as a growth tactic): discover one other creator, engage meaningfully with their work, and let them know you did.

Open the 30-Day Challenge participant playlist, choose a show you don’t already know, and listen.

Then, do one thing:
Send the host a specific compliment
Share the episode with someone
Post about it in Slack
Follow the show
Suggest a future collaboration

Suggestions for Implementation

  • Be specific in your comment / review. Don't just say "loved this." Tell them what you enjoyed.
  • Share it with the right person. Send it to one friend, colleague, or community member who'd appreciate it.
  • Introduce yourself. Tell the host which show you make and why their work caught your attention, but don’t immediately turn it into a pitch.
  • Notice potential overlap. Could you exchange promos, recommend one another’s episodes, appear on each other’s shows, or co-create something later on?
  • Start your own playlist. Create a Spotify playlist and include episodes you love / that relate to your show's topic. Include your own show, sure, but also include shows form creators in your niche. Then, let them know you did!
  • Enter a room with other creators. If you want more structured opportunities to network, choose an upcoming Well It Depends Labs event and put it on your calendar.
